High performance treatments seminar part of education sessions

LAS VEGAS — In keeping with the tradition of providing the most up-to-date and informative educational seminars for show attendees, the organizers of Cosmoprof North America 2011 announce the session, “NewBeauty – High Performance Treatments & Instant Results: The Impact On The Spa Industry.


”This session is scheduled for Monday, August 1st at 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in Pavilion B Educational Conference Room.

Moderated by Elise Minton, Executive Beauty Editor of NewBeauty Magazine, this session will discuss the efforts of modern day-to-day and long-term beauty plans be it at the doctor’s office, at-home or the spa. One thing rings true among all men and women: we all want instant results. The distinguished panel for this session will include Elise Minton, Art Pelligrino, Vice President of Research & Development at Elizabeth Arden, and Dr. Kenneth Beer, MD, FAAD.

The session will cover current trends on instant results and immediate gratification in beauty, as well as finding the right treatments and products that actually deliver these results. Sure, anything can be touted as a ‘miracle,’ but do such miracles actually exist in the anti-aging and skin-care realms? The panelists will each speak to their own particular area of expertise.

Elise Minton - As NewBeauty’s Executive Beauty Editor, Minton’s main role is to stay on the cusp of all things beauty related, bringing up-to-the-minute, cutting-edge information and research, breakthrough technologies and the newest beauty products to the magazine’s savvy readers in a comprehensible and engaging format. Always eager to dish about the next big beauty ‘thing,’ Minton scours the world to unearth the latest trends, products and secrets from within the industry.

Art Pelligrino - Before joining Elizabeth Arden as Vice President of Research & Development in 2010, Pellegrino was with Limited Brands, where he led Innovation Science & Technology for the Bath & Body Works and Victoria Secret Beauty Brands. Prior to that, Pellegrino was Senior Director of R&D at Johnson & Johnson where he spent 20 years in various R&D positions with the Consumer Group, including Beauty and Topical Health Care where he led R&D for the Clean & Clear, Aveeno, RoC, and BandAid brands.

Dr. Kenneth Beer, MD, FAAD - Aboard-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist, Dr. Beer has authored numerous publications including several scientific articles and chapters in Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology textbooks. He is renowned as one of the country’s top experts in Botox and has published extensively in cosmetic dermatology journals, including Cosmetic Dermatology, Dermatologic Surgery and the author of the monthly “Cosmetic Clinic” for dermatologists that appear in Skin and Aging magazine.

During this session, the experts will explore how oursociety moves at lightning speed, but when it comes to treatments at the spa or at home, is the expectation for quick results higher than ever? The wave of injectables, fillers and derm cosmetic services has created an unrealistic expectation for instant visible results, which traditional beauty / cosmetic products have a tough time fulfilling without crossing into the territory of drug performance.
