INDIAN WELLS, Calif. — Hyatt Grand Champions Resort, Villas and Spa recently announce the groundbreaking of its extensive $1 million renovations of the resort lobby on July 6.

Due to the extensive construction associated with this project, the resort will be closed from July 6 through July 27, re-opening on July 28. The lobby renovations are scheduled for completion on Sept. 1, 2011, featuring an entirely new, contemporary arrival experience for guests.

“The extensive upgrades to this resort reflect Hyatt’s commitment to unsurpassed design, services and amenities,” said Allan Farwell, General Manager of Hyatt Grand Champions. “As with all of our other renovations, our ongoing aim is to offer the best, most differentiated product in the market, change the competitive landscape and redefine the Hyatt experience.  This is truly a repositioning of this resort within the marketplace.  We look forward to Hyatt Grand Champions’ transformation and offering travelers an unmatched, authentic stay in Indian Wells and the Palm Springs area.”

A Contemporary New Look – The much-anticipated gem of the property’s multi-million dollar transformation, Hyatt Grand Champions’ new 6,200 sq. ft. lobby will feature a contemporary new look, featuring rich hues of red and plum and warm woods with a contrast of smooth steel-colored tones that encapsulate serenity and comfort. Designed by the renowned MSM Group of Dallas, the beckoning lobby will welcome guests with a “gathering place” of modular, welcoming seating, a 20 ft. art glass chandelier and an entirely new check-in experience.

Unparalleled Resort Experience – In February 2008, the resort’s first phase of extensive renovations included the complete redesign and reconcepting of the property’s Lantana Restaurant and expansion of the resort’s 25 private villas. A sophisticated and convivial destination for both locals and visitors, Lantana features globally-inspired California cuisine. The villas offer the ultimate in privacy and world-class amenities. In October 2010, the resort introduced a transformation of their 26 luxury Penthouse Suites and the lobby bar, renamed Agave Sunset.

The redesign of the lobby completes the third phase of renovations at the resort and continues to showcase Hyatt Grand Champions’ commitment to providing contemporary furnishings and high-quality service for an unmatched desert getaway.
