LFIATLANTA, April 20, 2010 — Two visionary industry experts have been selected to headline the LIGHTFAIR International 2010 Conference and Institute as the featured keynote speakers. James Brodrick, PhD, and Stephen Jones will address solid-state lighting and the impact of integrated design on the AEC (architectural, engineering and construction) industry in a two-day lineup of dynamic keynote luncheons. Jones takes the stage on Monday, May 10—the opening day of the Institutes—and Brodrick follows on Tuesday, May 11.

LFI 2010 is scheduled for May 10-14, 2010 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The Daylighting Institute and the LIGHTFAIR Institute take place Monday, May 10 - Tuesday, May 11, 2010 and the Conference occurs Wednesday, May 12 - Friday, May 14, in conjunction with the trade show days.

Pulling from professional experience and significant research, both speakers will individually address critical factors weighing on the future of the industry while engaging the audience with compelling information and enlightening solutions.

The two keynote presentations—each individually robust and educational—will together create a comprehensive two-day platform set to excite and educate industry professionals from around the globe.

Attendees can participate as part of their Institute registration or by purchasing individual tickets. Registration for both Institutes and the keynote luncheons is online at www.lightfair.com.

In its 21 st year, LFI, the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, is set to present—in less than two weeks—its renowned educational program and trade show floor robust in innovative products and technologies.

The 2010 trade show floor features four pavilions—two of which have flourished into prime destinations for LFI attendees and two of which are set to debut this year. The two new pavilions for the Las Vegas show are the Building Integration Pavilion and the Global Light + Design Pavilion—known since its 2008 introduction as the European Light + Design Pavilion.

Strategically staged throughout the LFI trade show floor to ensure maximum exposure, the four pavilions are

  • Building Integration Pavilion, launching in 2010 to address one of the industry’s foremost topics of interest, features companies with enterprise system technologies used to maximize and form energy efficient buildings, and also spotlights building integration’s most successful projects

  • Global Light + Design Pavilion introduces a newly expanded pavilion, featuring the world's finest and most unique decorative lighting designs from globally-recognized manufacturers with headquarters outside the U.S.

  • Daylighting Pavilion, the trade show counterpart to LFI’s Daylighting Institute, displays products from manufacturers in the lighting industry who have incorporated natural and artificial lighting into their designs, while improving overall efficiency and economic and environmental benefits

  • Design Pavilion showcases upscale decorative designs with a creative edge, a wide range of lighting styles and innovative products setting trends in the lighting industry

The newest addition—the Building Integration Pavilion—is supported by a comprehensive educational track as part of the renowned LFI Conference and the LIGHTFAIR Institute. With this, LFI 2010 attendees will be able to discover Building Integration both on the trade show floor and in the classroom.

To celebrate the launch of Building Integration at LIGHTFAIR, two cocktail receptions will be held in the pavilion with the opportunity to win one of two Apple iPad 64GBs. The parties will take place on Wednesday, May 12—the opening day of the trade show floor—4-6 p.m. and Thursday, May 13, 4-5 p.m. There will be one drawing each day for the iPad, and it will take place at the reception in the Building Integration Pavilion.

LIGHTFAIR International is the world’s largest annual commercial and architectural lighting trade show and conference and is sponsored by the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). The event is produced and managed by AMC, Inc.
