LIGHTFAIR International expands conference program in 2010

ATLANTA The lighting industry’s most renowned educational program—presented exclusively at the world’s largest annual architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference, LIGHTFAIR International is expanding its curriculum to offer an even broader lineup of seminars, courses and workshops next year.

The 2010 LFI Conference program offers seven diverse educational tracks with 68 unique courses, totaling more than 200 accredited hours for AIA, ASID/IIDA, IES and IFMA, upon individual association approval. Highlights include:

  • The launch of the Building Integration track, aligning with the newest pavilion on the trade show floor, to create a comprehensive offering dedicated to educating attendees on energy efficiencies, optimizing the overall building performance and analysis and comparisons of improving efficiencies
  • In the LIGHTFAIR Institute, a complete 3-level lighting series will be introduced with the addition of a new 2-day Advanced Lighting course to enhance the existing Basic Lighting and Intermediate Lighting 2-day immersion courses
  • Courses on Daylighting management tools, metrics, harvesting and control systems within the Daylighting Institute
  • A wide variety of workshops and seminars on LED and LEED.

Conference topics will cover Controls for Daylighting, Daylight Management in Commercial Buildings, Simulation Tools, Controls, Codes, BIM/IPD, Color and Design and several more relevant lighting subjects.

2010 Participants can choose from:

  • 11 Daylighting Institute Workshops
  • One two-day Daylighting Fundamentals course
  • 16 LIGHTFAIR Institute Workshops, including a tour
  • Three one-day LIGHTFAIR Institute courses
  • Five two-day LIGHTFAIR Institute courses
  • 32 seminars

Designed to educate attendees on the industry’s latest trends, innovations and business solutions, the LFI Conference program covers a broad range of today’s most relevant topics. It brings together the foremost designers, educators, architects, engineers and consultants to address topics that cover lighting fundamentals, software, applications, controls and solutions, as well as design innovation, product updates and case studies.

The Daylighting Institute and the LIGHTFAIR Institute take place May 10-11, 2010 and the seminars occur May 12-14.


LIGHTFAIR International is the world’s largest annual commercial and architectural lighting trade show and conference and is sponsored by the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). The event is produced and managed by AMC, Inc.
