Meeting, hotel & destination industry send message to Washington
Krisam Group, Global Events Partners announce debut of ‘THE WALL’
Thousands and thousands of signatures sending a powerful message to Washington
WASHINGTON, D.C. — Krisam Group, the pioneering hotel membership company for independent and unique hotels worldwide, and Global Events Partners, the leading partnership of Destination Management Companies worldwide, recently announced the creation of THE WALL.
THE WALL was built in support of the massive industry effort to educate politicians, media and the public that meetings and events play an imperative role to strengthening the U.S. economy.
The structure stands 8 feet tall and was built with space for everyone in the industry to sign. The goal is to set the record straight about meetings and events by uniting meeting professionals, capturing thousands of signatures and sending a bold message to Washington.
The panel reads:
Dear Mr. President,
It is a monumental time and we have a bold message for Washington…
On the matter of meetings … meetings matter.
Meetings are a part of the solution; not the problem.

THE WALL, which is endorsed by Meeting Professionals International and supported by the U.S. Travel Association, was unveiled in Boston earlier this month at NEMICE, the annual trade show of MPI New England.
"The meetings industry is powerful. It represents millions of jobs and billions in tax revenue and yet perhaps it’s greatest value is the unique capability meetings have to motivate masses, educate individuals, generate revenues,” said Beth Hamiroune, vice president of sales, Krisam Group and Global Event Partners. ”I was looking for a tangible way to help galvanize the industry and deliver our message to Washington and the country in a bold, forceful and memorable way."
THE WALL was met with overwhelming enthusiasm, exactly the reception Beth Hamiroune imagined. The enthusiasm was so high in Boston that THE WALL is now being hosted by other industry associations and is traveling to other industry events seeking signers from all across the country.
Since NEMICE, THE WALL has already appeared in New York for the MPI NYMIX hosted by MPI's New York Chapter, as well as, in Washington, D.C., for ASAE's Springtime Expo.
More than 1,000 signatures have been collected from meeting and event professionals, hotel representatives, DMCs, press and leading industry officials from these events.
THE WALL is growing in size and will continue to travel the U.S. this summer ending at MPI's World Education Congress in Salt Lake City, Utah, July 11. Preparations are being discussed for its final destination and presentation in Washington, D.C., to members of Congress and President Obama.
